My week in books (not only) #53 - The Sunday post - The Sunday salon

Hello, I'm linking back to The sunday post held by Kim, The Caffeinated Reviewer and The sunday salon held by Deb at Readerbuzz. Click on the links to access their posts and discover plenty of great bloggers who are dying to share their book reviews, and other things, with you !

 *°*° LIFE UPDATES °*°*

I thought about cancelling my Twitter account - I don't read Twitter much and find it too... all over the place, too much, too quickly, hard to follow visually. However, when I tried commenting last wednesday and yesterday, the Twitter signature was the only one working on my laptop, so... i'm keeping it for now.
I've been apparently lazy in surfing the net and commenting (sorry !), but looking back on my bullet journal, I've been very active. In the house, cleaning, cooking, washing, leaving my computer to my daughter for her homeworks and organising things. It's good to keep track of things you do so you won't think retrospectively that you've been lazy when you weren't.
Among other things, I've written all my belated reviews, now I'm up to date. I also answered comments on my blog, so I just (just !) have to keep up with Youtube and checking my Bloglovin' feed.
I've also been building my future health posts, that I'll publish every saturday, concerning health, food, organisation, environment and all that... I presented the section yesterday and the link is below.
Not much series watching, 1 Hercule Poirot et a handful of Supernatural episodes, we reached season 13.

As I was typing away, the snow began to fall for the first time in years ! (Well, last year : 30 seconds of snow falling, 10 seconds before it all melted). So I gave up on Bloglovin' and we went for a walk, it felt good to hear the snow cracking under out feet :

I can't wait to see what it will all look like tomorrow - and if the snow will still be here. (Update : there's not much left...).

Oh, by the way, we have a curfew (again) : rather than a lockdown (for now), the government ordered a curfew at 6PM for all France (it was 8PM so far, with 6PM only for some places), so all the working people and the kids that go to school can gather round in public transports because they'll have a shorter time span to get back home...

  1. We got snow late last night, too, and it's still kind of white outside, but it's melting really quickly.
I'm so sorry you guys will have to deal with an earlier curfew, Iza. I don't really understand what the use of that is - especially, as you said, because it just means more people will in public transport at the same time.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading, my dear.

    1. We had snow for exactly half a day, on sunday it was all gone. And the curfew doesn't change much for me, I've been stuck home for months now, but I worry for my coworkers and people in general. Thanks Linda, I hope you're enjoying your week !

  2. I'm thrilled to report that there hasn't been a sniff of the white stuff, which I LOATHE. And I echo Linda's comments regarding the curfew - it sounds like a really silly imposition. Glad you were able to get out for a walk and I hope the coming week is a good one for you.:)

  3. Aw I am jealous of the snow! We keep getting it forecast but it doesn't arrive! I am also pleased to hear it has been a busy but productive week, especially catching up on all your reviews. Well done! 😁 I really need to do that, too! 😅 Take care and happy reading.

  5. I'm not a big fan of snow, but the pictures are pretty. I'm sorry about the curfew. So many places are doing that and I just don't see how that helps.

I hope you have a great week!

  6. Snow is beautiful, and I enjoy it now and then. I am glad not to have to deal with it often. We live an hour or so from snow, but have only had it in the city two or three times in forty years! And it melts right away.

Enjoy your week and your books. Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. I'm glad I only had to walk in it too, it's a lot better than driving - even if my boyfriend the mountaineer thinks snow here is nothing but a triffle. Thanks Heather :)

  10. Before I lived in Michigan and was living in California, we got snow where I lived only twice and we got so excited. Yay that you got some snow. Bummer about the shorter curfew time.
Looks like you've gotten a good start on your reading challenges and good for you sticking to your reading ban.

    Have a good week, Iza!

  11. I'm glad people are enjoying the snow. I did for many years and went skiing every weekend. Now I live where we get a ay or two a year which doesn't last. I'm fine with it. Lulu hates rain and snow. It certainly is pretty though. Happy reading!

  12. Ooh look at that snow! We got some too but just flakes... your walk looks wonderful. I love a brisk walk in the winter. I know what you mean about Twitter too. :)

I'd like to watch some Hercule Poirot if I can get around to it. So much TV...

Take care and be well this week.

  13. We had snow fall here and it was pretty but it didn't stick. It rarely does here which I'm good with. I'm much more of a warm weather person. I have issues with Twitter too and have thought about canceling it. I've found it just stresses me out but it's been useful enough a time or two that I have kept it. I need to watch more Poirot! I love the David Suchet series but it's been too long since I watched an episode. Have a great week!

  14. I read threads on Twitter now and then and will sometimes post there, but usually it's a vacuum. Such pretty snow! It does not snow where I live. My daughter wishes it would. I am glad it doesn't. I hope you are enjoying your reading! I have a copy of Villette to read. One day! I hope you have a great week! Enjoy the snow while you can. :-)

    1. Visually, it's difficult for me to "read" Twitter, which is my main problem, but there are too many informations too quickly, too. Snow is beautiful... but slippery ! I can't say I'm struggling with Villette, but the beginning was great and now, I feel like I'm reading The professor all over again. Thanks Wendy !

  15. I enjoy Twitter, it’s basically my news feed, but I do get caught doomscrolling too often.
Curfews are such a half-hearted measure, lockdowns aren’t popular but they do work if people cooperate.

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. My social media addiction is Pinterest... I could spend hours there. Sometimes I delete the app, but I always put it back ! I would very much prefer a lockdown to curfew, I have the feeling they would be more efficient. Thanks Shelleyrae :)

  16. I love your snow photos! I wondered if crowded buses and trains undo any benefit we get from curfews. Hopefully someone is studying that. Have a great week!

Sounds like you've had a super productive week! I'm struggling to catch up with blog comments but I've tried and that's all I can do really. I've now cleared the Feedly feed and will try keep up going forward. :)

    Ah Rimbaud, so good!
Martha Wells is on my list! And glad to see seeing my challenges recap gave you the idea. Actually, I also only post it once a month, on my monthly recap

    1. Actually, Rimbaud is the one I'm struggling to write a review on, I'm still pondering the rating. I love the poet, many of his poems, his energy, his word creations, the sounds of his lines, but I didn't get it all. I'll think about it some more. Oh, enjoy Martha Wells, if you want to read more SF, The Murderbot will be a very good start !
