As long as I remember, I've always loved books. Some times, I happened to fall off the book wagon, but I always managed to climb back. This blog starting in 2020, I won't obviously catch up on all the books I've read before. And those I loved then I may not love so much now. They are not even all listed on Goodreads or Babelio (access my profiles by clicking on the logos), but my lists are important as they are...
Working in Paris in a big library, I live in the country and enjoy long hours on the train (or waiting for it...) while reading. My tastes are diverse and varied : British literature mostly, but also French, Japanese or from other parts of the world, classics mostly, thrillers, mysteries, historical, some romance, some contemporary literature, non-fictions, comics... and working in a library is a neverending temptation, believe me, so I never know what I'll be reading next. My main goal, though, is to reduce my physical (more than 180 books) and virtual to-read shelves.
However, since I can never have enough books, I couldn't resist subscribing to Netgalley and sometimes request a book or two, but I try to keep the number low. No pressure. Which is why I don't take review copies from authors any more.
No reading goal for 2020 here, just enjoy reading and reducing those physical to-read shelves, or trying to, that's all, with a secondary goal in mind to also clean out my e-reader. Though it will probably take years.
I'm the proud mum of two daughters and two cats and love nothing more than to relax on the couch with a good book, a cup of tea or a glass of wine and a cat to keep me company.
I link all of my unread books to Goodreads, so that you can read the summary and other people's opinions if you want to, but if you want to buy books, please consider doing it from your local bookshop.
Wow! What a stunning cat! Working in a library has to be one of the best jobs too. Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteI do love my job, I'm so lucky :) And yes, Laouen is beautiful, veeeeery lively but also very affectionate, thanks Ro, *hugs*
DeleteWorking in Paris in a big library and living in the countryside. An ideal situation!
ReplyDeleteWhen the trains are normally functioning (happens), yes, plenty of time to read and I love coming back home on a sunny day and watch the landscape :)
DeleteYes I'm officially jealous! I wondered where the beer place was and now I know. Gorgeous. What a wonderful place to work and live. I will live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteI live in Burgundy even if my heart and origins lie in Brittany. There are woods, and hills, and beautiful villages and... wine ! Not mentioning the beer ;)
