But not this one ! It's a real little treasure of humour, refreshing, with many characters that you just love. I only liked one book less, because it featured what happened to animals in the country... That said, I had borrowed them all at the library, but I'll finally buy the whole series because I'm certain I will love to read it again - and lend it around me.<i> </i></span></span><br /></div><p></p>IzaBzhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07928164883897873147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1870240252493509339.post-63966936073646368432022-04-06T16:49:00.000+02:002022-04-06T16:49:10.560+02:00Geneviève BRISAC : Les enchanteurs<div class="desc cms-styles">

Her school life is full of whispers and lies — <i>Hélène weighs 216; she smells like BO</i>. Her loving mother is too tired to be any help. Hélène identifies strongly with Jane’s tribulations, and when she is
lost in the pages of this wonderful book, she is able to ignore her

to see herself as a person deserving of laughter and friendship.</span> </span></span> <br /></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17214302-jane-the-fox-me" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="422" data-original-width="318" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEidCj0hfBTvL7f4bDl4McTA1__NwgQUtWNpJAJCtOVZCG3_njKx4JSS2-zJ4c8q31ed6WQjCLDWzgBQfs4-Croy6nXlUFZyTtvpx2vUpoGLgJag3EqvbqtbjUwtYokTrzw1z_Uk7UcPKnF5Lk88p7xZjldGoDVP2tAe-GowYJ1espAv6mufvbLeU_63OQ=s320" width="241" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEju2H0MetHdKqTcnxDMEmD0XkdN0U9DAtxwFAMS5U3E1BivE6EH35w6OKvDhwthsj2-_trt9Nda82CO7VmJdUnrjjCFMTbwnjN7Un5lfhiinGFyqYYjucsi-YrQ5-nAD5Uk1umzdXgqlXKz2bGmSvaVAoqf8EmyOS4QH_VNsZJBkVYpngS949RByVWaiQ=s1054" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="192" data-original-width="1054" height="49" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEju2H0MetHdKqTcnxDMEmD0XkdN0U9DAtxwFAMS5U3E1BivE6EH35w6OKvDhwthsj2-_trt9Nda82CO7VmJdUnrjjCFMTbwnjN7Un5lfhiinGFyqYYjucsi-YrQ5-nAD5Uk1umzdXgqlXKz2bGmSvaVAoqf8EmyOS4QH_VNsZJBkVYpngS949RByVWaiQ=w273-h49" width="273" /></a></div><div style="margin-left: 80px; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></span></div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">I read this album for my Brontë project, I found it in the Children section of my library.<br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The story has a parallel with Jane Eyre, Hélène loving the novel, and finding a friend who supports her in a hostile environment like the other Helen did. apparaît dans un nombre remarquable d’œuvres littéraires et

the four are as close as ever, Thursday pub trivia night is sacred, and
Eve is still secretly in love with Ed. Maybe she should have moved on by

knows Ed still thinks about it, too.<br />But then, in an instant, their lives are changed forever. In
the aftermath, Eve’s world is upended. As stunning secrets are
revealed, she begins to wonder if she really knew her friends as well as
she thought. And when someone from the past comes back into her life,
Eve’s future veers in a surprising new direction...<br />They say every love story starts with a single moment. I'd been warned and knew better, which is why I started reading it on a week-end, with handkerchiefs nearby. </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">There are different parts in this novel.<br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The short first part, with the friends meeting and their banter, left me rather cold. I was tired and wasn't interested in what they were saying.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">However, after the "event", the story took a very different turn and I have to admit that Mhairi McFarlane knows how to write about loss (losses) and grief and make you feel it/remember it powerfully. That's when you'll need the hot cup of tea, the cat and the handkerchiefs (more than one).</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Then the main character learns something, and her grief takes another direction, making her wonder about everything she thought she knew and felt and trusted.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">When "somebody" disappears and two characters go get that person, we're sliding comfortably back into rom com territory, in a nice and funny way. It stays mostly there until the end of the novel, with a different touch that explains the attitude of one of the main characters.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">I heard so much about this novel that I had to give it a try and I loved it, even if I felt that the story covered so many different grounds that I would have liked more unity in it. Rom-com ? Grief ? Drama ? That's a lot, which is why i didn't give it 5 stars. Yet, it packed such a punch that I couldn't rate it under 4 stars, so there it is. I hate reading stories that make me cry, but every word this author wrote about grief, and Alzheimer's, resonated in me and brought back vivid memories. It's a really good book.<br /></span></span></div>IzaBzhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07928164883897873147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1870240252493509339.post-77821170113265627472022-04-06T16:19:00.000+02:002022-04-06T16:19:57.996+02:00SHIMAZAKI Aki : Hamaguri, Tsubame, Wasurenaguso, Hotaru - Le poids des secrets T2, 3, 4 et 5 (chronique en français)<div><div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span id="freeText9283891403359223684">Deux petits enfants de

No problem, I re-read it with pleasure since Elizabeth Gaskell is such a great writer.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The general plot reminded me of Cranford, life in a small town, but this time centered around the person of the dignified Lady Ludlow, an aristocrat much attached to the past and its tradition, finding her way with difficulty around the changes around her. She may seem stiff, but this lady had a big heart and is surrounded by colourful characters - as I said previously, she barks more than she bites, with class of course. Like in Cranford, also, the story is told by a young woman that we don't know much about.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">This book would have gained a half star if it wasn't for the Revolution story - a story inside the story. As much as Lady Ludlow's more or less disputes with the villagers were lively and entertaining, the Revolution story dragged on way too much, it should have been cut short. The tone was different, it felt like a plot, more contrived, written on another occasion and slipped inside the novel just for the sake of using it. </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">So I would recommend My Lady Ludlow, along with anything I've read by Elizabeth Gaskell so far, yet it you reach the "Revolution point", skip it and jump to the conclusion (the morale), you won't miss a thing. The novel itself is tender and heartwarming.<br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></span></div>IzaBzhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07928164883897873147noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1870240252493509339.post-23161063900389205562022-04-06T16:15:00.000+02:002022-04-06T16:15:11.010+02:00Charlotte BRONTE : Shirley<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText14477489860112726887">Following the tremendous popular success of <i>Jane Eyre,</i>
which earned her lifelong notoriety as a moral revolutionary, Charlotte
Brontë vowed to write a sweeping social chronicle that focused on
"something real and unromantic as Monday morning." </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText14477489860112726887">Set in the
industrializing England of the Napoleonic wars and Luddite revolts of
1811-12, <i>Shirley</i> (1849) is the story of two contrasting heroines.
One is the shy Caroline Helstone, who is trapped in the oppressive
atmosphere of a Yorkshire rectory and whose bare life symbolizes the
plight of single women in the nineteenth century. The other is the
vivacious Shirley Keeldar, who inherits a local estate and whose wealth
liberates her from convention.<br />A work that combines social commentary with the more private preoccupations of <i>Jane Eyre, Shirley</i> demonstrates the full range of Brontë's literary talent. <i>"Shirley</i> is a revolutionary novel," wrote Brontë biographer Lyndall Gordon. <i>"Shirley</i> follows <i>Jane Eyre</i>
as a new exemplar but so much a forerunner of the feminist of the later
twentieth century that it is hard to believe in her actual existence in
1811-12. She is a theoretic possibility: what a woman might be if she
combined independence and means of her own with intellect. Charlotte
Brontë imagined a new form of power, equal to that of men, in a
confident young woman [whose] extraordinary freedom has accustomed her
to think for herself....Shirley [is] Brontë's most feminist novel."</span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText14477489860112726887"> </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText14477489860112726887"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/31168.Shirley" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="475" data-original-width="307" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiI1Qz6cZbqbVrkpQiWKn7yLO2D60wW5dcpFORRUiVrQ9j1P011ly77V-hYdGr_0dkf4Kvbe61hO6zK6QQBse8sbNjE3rOn-NtcTo3MgTHDKCrqJQ3Q4l8Emseni5srg3hKzFckaGGiDJSXEmOsP1aeEL0paBHtk1G-D5RC6F_O0KZpj1wHYRvp9ysEAw=s320" width="207" /></a></div> </span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhZYteWArKNFbPYTlC9O3P4PH7v4tauZd0XZfd3yWf3v5-kK0xqI6S6JBb0a7ginKcRBe6SEc8QqnQ_1MVKTlx1D43R7ThGYanTzM2bZjULiv29fxEfmH--N4zHp8vE1zxDjmreuvUw1N9Kz8BUb3l7nfbIl59ypC8QgxdjMmgSKLOLE8MSiN7F7DqfAA=s1600" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="292" data-original-width="1600" height="44" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhZYteWArKNFbPYTlC9O3P4PH7v4tauZd0XZfd3yWf3v5-kK0xqI6S6JBb0a7ginKcRBe6SEc8QqnQ_1MVKTlx1D43R7ThGYanTzM2bZjULiv29fxEfmH--N4zHp8vE1zxDjmreuvUw1N9Kz8BUb3l7nfbIl59ypC8QgxdjMmgSKLOLE8MSiN7F7DqfAA=w244-h44" width="244" /></a></div><br /> Ah, I loved it ! Not as much as Jane Eyre, but Jane Eyre being my favourite novel of all times, I doubt one will ever reach its height in my opinion. However... Gaskell's novel took place in a big northern town while this one is in rural Yorkshire, however it's all about mills and new factory machines, how people revolt against it, yet a big importance is laid upon women and their place in society. I could hear Charlotte's own voice shining through many times in the novel, as a woman who wants to make something out of her life, not just stay home and bore herself to death mending stockings : </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span>"The brothers of these girls are every one in business or in
professions; they have something to do. Their sisters have no earthly
employment but household work and sewing, no earthly pleasure but an
unprofitable visiting, and no hope, in all their life to come, of
anything better. This stagnant state of things makes them decline in
health. They are never well, and their minds and views shrink to
wondrous narrowness. </span></span></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span><span>The great wish, the sole aim of every one of them is to be
married, but the majority will never marry; they will die as they now
live.</span>" Imagine Charlotte, who grew in a big family, now living alone with her ailing father, her siblings all dead, in this house with a view on the cemetery surrounded by wuthering winds ? <br /></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span> </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span>I loved Charlotte's sharp sense of humour - because there is humour : </span></span></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span><span>"Originality. Quick were they to recognize the signs of this evil ;
and wherever they saw its trace — whether in look, word, or deed;
whether they read it in the fresh, vigorous style of a book, or listened
to it in interesting, unhackneyed, pure, expressive language — they
shuddered, they recoiled. Danger was above their heads, peril about
their steps. What was this strange thing ? Being unintelligible it must
be bad."</span></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span><span> </span></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span><span>This novel was filled with larger than life characters, humour, passion, reason too, I really had a great time reading it and will probably read it again some time in the future.</span></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span>First sentence : "Of late years an abundant shower of curates has

I'm not okay with that.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">All in all, this was a very pleasant, enjoyable, sometimes moving, always funny novel and I will love reading the next, I gather.
<br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Si ? OK !
wilds of Utah — where he lived with his three wives : Rachel, the
first wife, obedient and doting to a fault, with a past she'd prefer to
keep quiet. Tina, the rebel wife, everything Rachel isn't, straight from
rehab and the Vegas strip. And Emily, the young wife, naïve and scared,
estranged from her Catholic family.<br />The only thing that they had in common was Blake. Until all three are accused of his murder.<br />When
Blake is found dead under the desert sun, all three wives become
suspect — not only to the police, but to each other. As the investigation
draws them closer, each wife must decide who can be trusted. With
stories surfacing of a notorious cult tucked away in the hills, whispers
flying about a fourth wife, and evidence that can't quite explain what
had been keeping Blake busy, the three widows face a reckoning that
might shatter all they know to be true.</span> </span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhQnk3yA-OfoOAX2VgOsxB8YWq9j7vRxCGXFSy1lSLFF4SXIfUYhYBUqr8OkqKiCHzXqS7fqDwXM9e4KyZp4T-qIyQLA0Sbuoat6V4NWOufxMNS2A3jowjev9hAw7YQc3hHFDNmI0GQNOcUnLPE8Oz6pvchr3eUj_8kvZ8c1b-gHvL9Uxym_GqjOOl1gA=s475" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="475" data-original-width="317" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhQnk3yA-OfoOAX2VgOsxB8YWq9j7vRxCGXFSy1lSLFF4SXIfUYhYBUqr8OkqKiCHzXqS7fqDwXM9e4KyZp4T-qIyQLA0Sbuoat6V4NWOufxMNS2A3jowjev9hAw7YQc3hHFDNmI0GQNOcUnLPE8Oz6pvchr3eUj_8kvZ8c1b-gHvL9Uxym_GqjOOl1gA=s320" width="214" /></a></span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg-ZjQz03TO7ZC-C9Q_rr51QbJt1p8dT3up-tMhjlA5JZVnMnJkqTBSx3PXZIlHIYdvScTrC_JEtC9NZqXmlpaqLXSAGqL3xaLzFOH4yIEW48O_99qy4u1cakQEdb4QP7kyfk8q-jSc8DItd8FMvI9n2efsPDxK3bXrpOhAo3i3Ng4gbF3VUDQ9dR7nkw=s1054" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="192" data-original-width="1054" height="44" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg-ZjQz03TO7ZC-C9Q_rr51QbJt1p8dT3up-tMhjlA5JZVnMnJkqTBSx3PXZIlHIYdvScTrC_JEtC9NZqXmlpaqLXSAGqL3xaLzFOH4yIEW48O_99qy4u1cakQEdb4QP7kyfk8q-jSc8DItd8FMvI9n2efsPDxK3bXrpOhAo3i3Ng4gbF3VUDQ9dR7nkw=w241-h44" width="241" /></a></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">This is not the kind of novel I would usually read, but I heard a very warm recommendation on a youtube video, so here it is.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The story takes place in an environment I don't know much about (Utah, deserts, polygamists, those who don't like polygamists, sects and so on) but I felt hooked and had a hard time putting the book down when I needed to. This is a big book but it reads very easily. Each chapter is narrated by a different wife, which gives you a different look on the situation and a different grasp on each character. Three women in the middle of nowhere, with a good reason to get rid of their husband, who did it ? </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">And who are they, those women, where do they come from ? When did the husband come from ? Was he trying to fix a situation or was he trying to become the founder of a new sect ? Why did he choose them specifically ? Is Rachel really the stern wife she seems to be or does she have reasons to be this way (does she know how to not be this way) ? Is Emily really a bit crazy or is she faking it ? Is Tina ready to do jump onto any opportunity to get a fix ? Is the past really dead ?<br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The good cop/bad coop duo who is investigating the case will have a hard time finding who did what !<br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The end let me down a bit, hence the missing half star, but I may be a bit demanding. Honestly, it's a really good suspense and you'll really grow to love these women - highly recommended !<br /></span></span></div>IzaBzhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07928164883897873147noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1870240252493509339.post-53489000800474504282022-02-25T14:41:00.001+01:002022-02-25T14:41:31.056+01:00Léonie BISCHOFF : Anaïs Nin - sur la mer des mensonges<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText17086113892577824418">Début des années 30.
bouleversements.</span></span></span></div><p><span id="freeText17086113892577824418"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/54571511-ana-s-nin---sur-la-mer-des-mensonges" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="424" data-original-width="318" height="287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEis37QwOTiu7SCdy4pzHjnXvZH6asBDPAQpJ1V0eIhZjSBlL3l6qZFCpI3CjTJ-2LNKdCvyu1rKU1iCamWxnlO-t31LCW1D8xDD9TGK0hAoAjoEo8bu-aGIqg4Jx5z99z7L7REil1aXSW5cMJePjrKLQxD6OQmnT0rcD9vnRuUjO6kFfY7pfuWrniBwDw=w215-h287" width="215" /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgr5l_LSiKgSTgqE7wjhw85WUNPGWtMV7S_zSGTlGqAoyP8CV1H2Pxi6TcMCq2V7EIcbrXo-O1RLSKdzvlzolgDFMd1ObxWlhAJoHY7k2iLKPfP8kGwWLoyjEPSqOPoSzaQGgai2zT-vn2Xu9CgQKZPTqKelgpVKn-eet9T550Xeu-51opqp6BEhxvjhQ=s2584" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="488" data-original-width="2584" height="44" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgr5l_LSiKgSTgqE7wjhw85WUNPGWtMV7S_zSGTlGqAoyP8CV1H2Pxi6TcMCq2V7EIcbrXo-O1RLSKdzvlzolgDFMd1ObxWlhAJoHY7k2iLKPfP8kGwWLoyjEPSqOPoSzaQGgai2zT-vn2Xu9CgQKZPTqKelgpVKn-eet9T550Xeu-51opqp6BEhxvjhQ=w236-h44" width="236" /></a></div><p></p><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Première chose : cette BD est graphiquement somptueuse !

Lire <i>Madame Bovary</i>, au XXIe siècle, c'est affronter
est jamais vraiment remise.</span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText1298761171397630743"> </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText1298761171397630743"><i><span id="freeText14251865864149179944">Madame Bovary is the
debut novel of French writer Gustave Flaubert, published in 1856. The
character lives beyond her means in order to escape the banalities and
emptiness of provincial life. When the novel was first serialized in La
Revue de Paris between 1 October 1856 and 15 December 1856, public
prosecutors attacked the novel for obscenity. The resulting trial in
January 1857 made the story notorious. After Flaubert's acquittal on 7
February 1857, Madame Bovary became a bestseller in April 1857 when it
was published in two volumes. A seminal work of literary realism, the
novel is now considered Flaubert's masterpiece, and one of the most
Une belle découverte.</span><br /></span></span></div>IzaBzhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07928164883897873147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1870240252493509339.post-17736525217275388802022-02-04T14:18:00.000+01:002022-02-04T14:18:00.501+01:00Lisa GARDNER : One step too far (Frankie Elkin #2)<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span id="freeText14554095279120416937">Frankie Elkin, who readers first met in <i>Before She Disappeared</i>,
