My week in books (not only) #51 - The Sunday post - The Sunday salon

Hello, I'm linking back to The sunday post held by Kim, The Caffeinated Reviewer and The sunday salon held by Deb at Readerbuzz. Click on the links to access their posts and discover plenty of great bloggers who are dying to share their book reviews, and other things, with you !

First of all, I wish you a better year - let's be cautious until everything goes back to "normal" !

I haven't been very present on the net this week. At the time I was writing this, I haden't even answered comments yet. I spent time with my family, played games, watched shows (Supernatural, Hercule Poirot, Goblin), cooked, ate, drank, washed, cleaned. I'm still wondering if next week will be the same, the temperatures are now cold, the outside world is foggy and my sister even had snow (she lives just above Paris) so reading under the cover with a warm cat and a warm drink is perfect for the season ! Cleaning up everything keeps bodies warm too but is somehow less appealing...

On the blogging side, in 2021 I'll be publishing reviews, of course, but I'll have a monthly Booktubers shoutout, I intend to create a blogroll - as soon as Blogger cooperates, I've been thinking of posting about my oldest books (some are from the 19th century), about bookish/non bookish Bullet journals, and other things I'm not sure about yet, including beards in the Victorian era (blame Wilkie Collins for that idea). I think january will be an experimental month, I'm noting ideas down as they come to me.
Anyway, enjoy your week and, as usual, stay safe.

  7. Happy New Year, Iza! It's lovely to be full of new ideas for a new year - I hope they work out for you:)). Thank you for the video of Brittany - we visited it several times when I was a girl and I was blown away by the beauty of the place - it reminds me so strongly of Cornwall... I hope you have a great reading week, snuggling in the warm:))

    1. Thanks SJ, I'm glad you know and love Brittany and I agree, it's strongly related to Cornwall, a place I also loved visiting and the language is close :)

  8. It's been oddly cold here, too, and I've also enjoyed reading while snuggling up in a blanket with a hot drink.

Your experimental month sounds like a great deal of fun. I don't know much about bullet journals and I'd love to know more. I am also clueless about beards during the Victoria era.

I've never read Wilkie Collins either. I hope to hear more.

  11. Happy New Year!! Wow, Brittany looks amazing! I remember reading once that it is a place where the forest meets the sea and I thought that sounded like such a perfect place.

It's the perfect time as well, to just relax and be and enjoy family. Enjoy your books and your time!

  12. The forest isn't very far, but a little further away from the coast, trees don't like salt, except pines. We also have palm trees thanks to the gulf stream ^^ Thank you, enjoy your books too :)

  13. I like Anne Perry's work, and her unique background and this case of redemption. It's great to see you are in collaboration with booktubers. That is one of my biggest goals is to meet and collaborate with more of them this year. I'll check out her vid.

  15. Happy New Year! Cannot wait to see where your blogging adventures take you this year. I haven't been around blogging much either. I just needed to enjoy this past few week before the pace picks up extremely quickly tomorrow. It's nice to have this downtime once in a while. Hope you have a great week!

  16. HAppy new year!

An entry about Victorian beards sounds... interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out for it!

I've been off the blog for about two weeks (though a couple of updates, just not really paying attention to it). I think the holidays are good for that. Less stress.

Just a heads up that your link for the Comment 4 Comment in the post is a little wonky. It sounds like a good challenge!

    1. Thank you Shannon ! I've already taken notes but I'll be studying beards more in depth in the next weeks, lol. I tried the link just a few seconds ago and (for that moment anyway) it worked ?

  17. You have more willpower than me. I bought those Murderbot books as soon as possible. I love the audio version. It sounds a lovely holiday break. Happy New Year!

  18. I think a break is a good thing, especially at this time of year. It sounds like you have great blogging goals for 2021,
The tour of Brittany is delightful, though the music sounds Scottish/Irish

Wishing you a great reading week, and a happy new year 🥳

    1. Thanks Shelleyrae ! The music is indeed Celtic, that's because Brittany is a Celtic country, even if its own music has some differences. This reading year starts great !

  21. Hi IzaBzh! Gosh that french George Orwell comic is gorgeous!!! Elza wil love it.

I love your ideas for the blog for this year. I'm sure you will be able to accomplish it. My husband has been nagging for BookTube, but I just really don't have the time and how on earth am I ever going to get Elza to sit still!!

Why do you struggle with your blogroll? Does your template not accommodate it? Aaagh, these templates and all the interfaces. It can be so frustrating. Hope you get it fixed!

Have a good week and good luck with all you have lined up.

Blogger has been doing some really weird stuff lately and until I have my list ready before the end of the month, I wouldn't like to see my work go to waste, as it happened before... Thanks Mareli :)
